Pros: Large numbers, easy to operate, alarm stays set, battery backup.
Cons: "Alarm off" button is too close to the "snooze bar." No weekend wakeup feature.
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a basic "low tech" clock radio, this is a good model to consider, even if you don't need the very large digital display.

When we discovered that the battery backup on our old clock radio had malfunctioned, we realized that we needed to buy a new one. We wanted a basic clock radio, and it proved to be quite a challenge to find one at a decent price.
This Timex Jumbo Display Clock Radio does the job very well. Don't believe the negative review on Amazon about this product. It works just fine.
You can set an alarm to wake you either with a gradually louder buzz, or to an FM or AM radio station at a set volume. Set the alarm and it will remain activated until you purposely switch it off. When you wake in the morning, you press an oval button on top of the clock radio, and this turns off the alarm while leaving it set.
One drawback is that this oval button is right behind the large snooze button. You COULD in theory accidently press the oval "alarm off" button instead of the snooze alarm. But this hasn't happened to us yet, and I think as long as you are aware of the drawback (and as long as you don't randomly pound on the top of the clock in the morning) it will be OK.
Another drawback is that there is no "weekend alarm" feature. If you forget to switch off the alarm on Friday night, you will get awakened at your set time on Saturday and Sunday morning. And if you don't remember to switch the alarm back on for Monday, you could wake up late for work! So you do have to be mindful of what day it is! In that respect, this clock radio is rather "low tech." But our old clock radio was "low tech" and we were used to having to set it each night. So it's no biggie for us.
The display is, as the product says, LARGE. It has two brightness settings. The digits display in red.
The sound on this radio is as good as you'd expect from a basic clock radio. If you want something more, then obviously you want a more expensive "system" instead of this basic appliance.
Overall, it is a good value for the money. If you're looking for a very basic clock radio with a few nice features, consider this one.
