Pros: Sound, Picture, User Friendly Menu, Versatile Inputs
I bought this TV factory direct, so I paid about what I would have if I had bought the 36AF61 model. So I decided why not get the next model up. I am glad that I did get this model...all I can say is WOW! Screen shows a great picture. Hooked it up to my DVD player via the component video input and the picture looked stellar! Looks just as good as any HDTV I have seen in the stores. Why pay the extra $500 for a TV that will only make you buy an external HD converter anyways...that is of course once HD is actually being utilized more by the cable (satellite) companies. The added color combs in this cinema series TV is great. Color is crisp, no pixel creep and no picture discoloration or distortion around the edges.
Also I can't say enough about the sound! The 33-watt built-in woofer is amazing. I actually reconsidered getting surround sound (just for a moment :-) TV has a simulated surround sound feature that kicks in the matrix speakers and the cyclone woofer which is great. Sound goes all the way to 100 although I have never gotten past 60 (with no pops, crackles, or reduced sound quality). The woofer even rumbles my couch. Everyone has commented on how great the sound is and how clear the picture is.
If you have the extra couple hundred dollars definitely spring for the cinema series and don't waste your money for HDTV (yet at least). This TV has it all: great picture, amazing sound, and a versatile series of inputs (3 video which support S-Video, 2 UHF, Component, and has audio outputs to process through a receiver), easy to navigate menus and a nice multi-functional programmable remote.
