Pros: Sleek design/fantastic picture/good sound/glow in the dark remote
Cons: can't watch another program while you are recording
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this as an excellent TV for a college dorm or a bedroom. It incorporates in a small package a decent screen size, great picture and sound

| NCPIRATE83's Full Review: Toshiba MW20FN1 20 inch TV/VCR/DVD Combo TV |
When my trusty Sony 20" TV that I had in my bedroom started giving me problems I thought that I would replace it,with another Sony of course. I had officially appointed Sony as the official supplier of TV sets to my house. So,off to Best Buy to retrieve yet another one. I hadn't even considered a combo unit until I saw this sleek looking Toshiba on the shelf. This is a great idea I thought. Ok, where are the Sony units like this with the TV/VCR/DVD included in one package. Well it seems that Sony does not make such a device. Back to the Toshiba, I took a closer look and the picture ,even at the store, was very good. I decided to take a chance, buy it and take it home to try it out. Very nice size TV for my small bedroom which is about 11 by 14'.
This thing is so easy to set up. You just plug it in and attach the cable. Theres no fiddling with wires. After I set the TV up on my cabinet in the bedroom I grabbed my home theater tune up CD,available at Best Buy by the way, and went about the simple process of adjusting the picture controls. Most people don't realize it but the factory settings on TVs are set purposefully high so that they stand out against the harsh light in the retail store. In your home you need much less contrast and sharpness etc. After I had made all the proper adjustments I grabbed a DVD . Carlos Santana and Friends in concert. In a word I was stunned. This little TV produces the best analog tv picture I have ever seen. I have in my living room a larger Sony Television of the current vintage that I thought was the best you could get,and don't get me wrong, it is very good but this little Toshiba is at least as good if not better. The blacks are deep black the colors are vibrant without bleeding the detail is so very sharp its hard not to believe you're looking at HDTV.! The controls are very well laid out and the remote is about as good as remotes get. I find all of them less than ideal. As for the complaints, there are few.
you can't record a different show than you are watching on TV but thats no big deal. I did take the advice of the Best Buy guy and buy the 4 year service plan for $59.00. It is a combo unit after all and if one thing goes then its a problem greater than it would be if the components are separate. So far this Toshiba is a definite winner in my book.
