Pros: Large monitor. Good price/performance IF you don't have problems.
Cons: Low battery life. Useless warranty. Bad customer support. Defective memory (in my case)
The Bottom Line: Buy at your own risk. If you need peace of mind that you are covered in the event of a problem, then avoid.

| ceo33's Full Review: Toshiba Satellite (p25s607) PC Notebook |
It's too bad a company can put out a product that has good potential like this, and then ruin the whole experience with awful customer service.
Of course, many who buy this will never need support, or in my case warranty service, but if you do, forget it.
As far as the machine goes, everything you have already read about it is true. The monitor is excellent, but the battery life is very short, and you wouldn't want to lug it around too much. It's more of a desktop replacement.
My problems started with a bad memory card. The computer would shut down unexpectedly, in the middle of work, with random stop errors, and BSD. Eventually, I traced the problem to one of the two 256MB memory cards that are standard. Without the bad card, everything was fine.
The Toshiba factory warranty is useless, as far as I'm concerned. After many long phone calls and jumping through endless hoops (seemed to be designed to force you to just give up) I finally had someone tell me that a box was being sent out with a pre-addressed RMA label. "Just send in the card, and we'll send the replacement.". Well, after waiting 3 weeks, I called back, only to find that there was nothing mailed to me and the previous operator was error... "we don't do that with memory." I was then told that the only way to "determine" if this was covered would be to drive 1 hour to the nearest warranty shop, drop my computer off for at least a week, just for the diagnosis. If the repair was approved, it may be several weeks before I get it back. Well, the cost of renting a replacement and my time to do all this would have exceeded $1000, all for a $100 part. Almost enough to buy a new computer. They know this.
If you buy this, or anything from Toshiba, you are taking your chances. I would recommend going with a company that has a better reputation for customer support. I will not do this again.
