| billovitch_dt3000's Full Review: Toshiba Portege 7010CT (PAP701U-T2N4) PC Notebook |
Had mine for four years. Presently running Windows ME. Repartitioned disk to 2x2 gigas - windows on C and most programmes on D. Only problems so far - battery replacement needed after 3 yrs and Tel connection port flap broke (repaired under Guarantee in Zurich by Tosh. although bought in Tokyo - Canadian for some reason).
Used as a portable and very useful. Applications used - photo, Japanese learning software, banking, scanner (a bit slow, butworks) usb printer and usb mouse. usb and parallel ZIP 100 drives. IR connection to mobile phone. Norton AV (slows the startup but well worth the trouble).
Docking station useful and also small enough to travel if CD rom required. Had a Toshiba PDR 2 slimline basic digicam which fits PCMCIA slot - very useful but now down and no more support.
Would like to upgrade the HDD if possible, or add a new slave HDD instead of the floppy drive in the D.Station ???? (the Pentium you can't upgrade any more).
It's still a good friend.
