| mdmrowe's Full Review: Toshiba Satellite A15-S127 (PSA10U-00RESV) PC Note... |
There are many things to consider when investing money into a new computer or laptop. You must know how much money you are willing to spend, a certain speed you're looking for, and the basic uses for the product.
This is a great laptop for anyone who checks their email, browses the internet, complete projects or do homework. I was very meticulous when searching for a laptop going into college, but I found a great deal with Toshiba product. In fact, my brother and sister each have the exact same model. For the price, this laptop cannot be beat.
It comes with 256MB RAM (maximum upgrade to 1GB), a CD-RW/DVD-ROM combination, ethernet ready, 2 USB slots, and printer ports.
Hardcore gamers beware: it's video card is a mere 16MB shared. In other words, the graphics takes away from your RAM when you are playing a game or something of that nature. Most games play fine on this one, but don't be surprised if you have trouble running the latest and upcoming games. Also, the speakers are fine, but if you're one that likes to blare your music, you might want to look into buying external speakers. For my purposes though, it's fine.
The bottom line is that if you're looking for a cheap yet valuable laptop, one you can prop up on your lap (hence the name) while watching TV on your couch, this is an excellent choice. I plan on keeping this for at least a couple more years (until PC makers upgrade their products or come out with some new, spiffy, must-have processor). I do all of my homework on it, can bring it to class and take notes, play games, listen to music, browse the internet, and run many applications at once (though I would advise upgrading the RAM a little bit, say to 512MB), go no further. You will not be disappointed.
