Pros: can carry it anywhere, lightweight, not expensive, fast
Cons: fan is noisy, bottom gets pretty hot, microsoft word wasn't included
The Bottom Line: I love my computer, it's light enough to carry around but still has a 15' screen. It's very easy to maintain and has no major problems so far.

Over the summer I earned about a thousand dollars and I wanted to buy a computer for college. I asked around to see what the most reliable kinds were and if laptops were better than desktops. For what I was going to use it for, writting papers and surfing the net, a laptop seemed perfect. Techies at my school suggested toshiba and I went looking for one. Comp USA had a sale on laptops, you get a free starter package with the purchase of any laptop. The only catch was that you needed the full amount upfront and you would receive the rebates in the mail. I gave my mom the money I earned and she paid for the whole package that day and waited for her rebates (a nice trade off). I wanted more than 256 RAM so for an extra $50 I upgraded to 512.
How well does it work? I love it. It does what I need as well and even faster than the big desktop my family owns. With the starter kit I got the supplies needed for wireless internet so I can sit on the couch, watch TV and surf the web. The screen is large and bright and crisper than others I have seen. The only problem is that on one charge you get about an hour and some use before it needs to be plugged into the wall. I think and extra battery will be a good investment. It came with a DVD player and cd burner already in it, to me, its worth its weight in gold. I burn all my presentations and homework onto CDs to bring to school. I play all the DVDs on it while sitting in my room which is a plus when the TV is in use already.
The only problem was it didn't come with microsoft word but buying it was simple enough. Recently the fan in the computer has become a little noisy buy other than that it has been a great computer. Its cheaper than most other laptops but meets or surpasses what they can do.
