Pros: Low price, free mini-PCI slot
Cons: Only 256 mb of memory (Highly recommend upgrade)
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this notebook, just make sure you set aside money for a 256MB (minimum) or 512MB (recommended) memory upgrade.

MSRP $1,049.99
I bought this Toshiba A15-S129 on black Friday 2003 and got a $450 mail in rebate for this notebook.
I highly recommend you upgrade the memory when you get this or any notebook with 256 MB of ram or less. The same day I opened it I went back to the store and bought additional ram when I saw how slow the computer ran out of the box. I added an additional 512 MB PC2700 SO-DIMM and this notebook has since then replaced my desktop.
This notebook also has a mini-PCI slot which I successfully added an internal wi-fi card. The reason I did this upgrade was I didnt like having to remove my previous PCMCIA wi-fi card when I put the laptop in the bag, and it frees up my PCMCIA slot for my firewire PCMCIA card.
No S-video output, but you can connect another monitor to the laptop and extend your desktop. Very useful when comapring things from different websites or if you want to watch a movie from your laptop in full screen and surf the web on the other monitor.
No USB 2.0 or firewire included, but you can get a PCMCIA w/ both for cheap.
I'm not really into gaming, so I don't have the need for awsome 3D graffix on my laptop, but it does do what I need it to do. I use this notebook along with an external firewire 250 Gig hard drive & DVD burner for video editing and DVD authoring with no problems.
