Pros: Sophisticated interface, many features, successful data backup.
Cons: Expensive (unless you get it off Ebay), Somewhat slow, complicated for PC users.
The Bottom Line: Impressive program, that would probably take a while to get very good at. Its server development heritage is clear.

| supersnapp's Full Review: Veritas Backup Exec Win V9.1 for PC (E110168) |
I was happy with my Drive Image SE that came with my Fujitsu computer, (different than the Drive Image 2002 that I gave such a scathing review to) but seeing as I decided complicate my life by installing Server 2003 on my computer, I could no longer use Drive Image. Real servers, require real backup software. So for a while I decided to try Veritas Backup Exec...which is one of a few backup products that will run on Windows Server 2003.
Ease of Use
Veritas takes a while to get used to. If you are coming from PC backup land you will notice a huge difference in the number of options you can use. It is overwhelming at first. You can backup across the network to many drives with all types of scheduling options.
Speed
I have to say, the speed is a good bit slower than data backup like Bounceback Express or operating backup software like Drive Image.
Backup Success
I was able to perform successful data backups, but I never did get around to testing its operating system recovery backup capability, which is where the rubber meets the road. Data backup is child's play compared to OS backup really.
Overall
I found the program to be impressive in its feature set, a little slow for what it was doing, but untested in its ability to recover my OS (I eventually removed 2003 and had to retreat back to Windows XP)
