I've been hearing scattered praise for Zelda for years without any real explanation what it was, and i'm grateful that your review goes into detail about the game's general point, as well as how this version differs from prior ones. It sounds fun to play.
That said, "but one boy living in the Kokiri Village does not have a fairy and is often looked down upon because of it. One day the almighty Deku tree decides to summon this boy, for he knows that the fate of the land of Hyrule lies within him, and so he sends the faithful fairy, Navi to go seek the boy without a fairy so that the wise Deku Tree might have a word with him" is exactly the kind of prose that keeps me from getting Lord of the Rings. As i'm quite confident the prose is the game's fault, not yours, i stand warned. Cheers!

........picked this up the other day, and I can't wait to play it.
I never played it on the N64...(that was during my Nintendo Protest years) so I am am looking forward to doing so.

I do agree that Master Quest was a tad disappointing... it merely adds a thin shade of extra playability to an already classic game.
I like your referrence to Back To The Future there, so kudos there too.
