work supplied me with this usb video camera for videoconferencing. this usb camera is incredibly easy to install. as the USB interface promised, installing this camera took no longer than 5 minutes. just pop the camera in and you're ready to go.
the cheap retail price of this camera will appeal to the money conscious. the quality of the video is mediocre. for modem-based video conferencing this camera is more than adequate. for higher speed conferencing this camera will perform adequately, though the color balance and pixelation on this camera is a bit noticeable.
as a usb device, it does not need any other cables connected to it, just plug it into the USB port and you are good to go. it comes with a focus dial that you can turn to better focus your image.
you do, however, get what you pay for. at 320x240, the colors looked washed out, the image itself is not as clear as it could be for still images, and the camera cannot capture 30fps. this makes the camera most suitable for cheap videoconferencing solutions.
one drawback for this is that it works under windows 95/98 only. there are no NT or 2000 drivers, so if you are running that OS, try some other camera.
