Admittedly web cams vary greatly in both quality and price, but I am extremely pleased with my new Ezonics Web Cam. It comes with an impressive suite of software allowing you to send and edit digital images. Setup was fairly easy, but instructions should nonetheless be read followed carefully. I made the mistake of simply plugging in the USB camera first, before installing the necessary software, and this resulted in a number of problems. However, if the software is installed first, you will be up and running in minutes.
The quality of image is very good, and both color and brightness are easily adjustable. I previously owned an Intel Create and Share USB Camera and found the Ezonics interface much more user friendly. It allows for gamma, saturation and R G B adjustments and will record and send video at up to 640x480 resolution. Further, a microphone is built in to the camera. The camera also has a button on top that allows for instant images, but I've found that this function always leads to a Windows "Fatal Error." I've not discovered the source of this problem yet.
The base of the camera is especially sturdy and may be adjusted for viewing at a number of angles. Another nice feature was the laptop screen adapter that lets you easily connect the camera to the casing of your notebook computer.
Software included Vexla Video Works, which allows the easy recording of video images. Additional features include time lapse, and video email.
For the money (approximately $50-$80 depending on where purchased) this is a fantastic camera featuring ease of use and durability. I highly recommend this product.
Other notable features: one touch image capture, long USB cord, easily adjustable lens, compact size, LED indicator.
