Pros: Great at zapping spyware, with frequent updating of definitions. Easy to set up and use.
Cons: Marginal product support. Updating definitions manually sometimes more timely than relying on automatic setup.

| engam's Full Review: Webroot Spy Sweeper 2.0 Full Version for PC |
Webroot's Spy Sweeper does a rock-solid job -- much better than SpyBot, for example -- and is intuitive to use. It is automatically updated once or more each week, provided your cookies management and firewall are tweaked appropriately. It also has a number of additional and helpful utility/security features. Among these are "are you sure" shields for IE, Windows and such, along with a handy utility to simplify the editing of startup programs. (Alas, Firefox is not covered by the several browser shields.) Unfortunately, over time a simple but important error (wrong registered email address for us) cropped up. Despite using their specialized report form for changing email addresses, I didn't get a response to repeated requests. This made it impossible to update from v3.2 to v3.5, as they email the user with the information necessary to download each update. After weeks of no feedback from Webroot, but interestingly not long after having posted here, Webroot implemented the solution, indicating their online procedure for changing emails has not always been working out. Whatever, with support seemingly being marginal rather than nonexistent, the overall package now comes off well. Support aside, it is excellent.
