When we purchased our home ten years ago, a whirlpool dishwasher was already installed under the counter top. During the life of this dishwasher, (which was already two years old when we moved in) we had to replace the rubber lining around the inside of the door, it cost approx.$15.00, my husband put it on. We finally had to replace the dishwasher last year, so the dishwasher was 10-11 years old, not bad.
We went out and purchased another whirlpool dishwasher with the changeable black front panel, the other dishwasher had an almond color. The dishwasher before cost approx. $225.00, the dishwasher we purchased was $299.00, we paid $189.00 at a discount store.
We wash at least two times a day, there are six of us. I use the dishwasher to wash all my dinnerware, nic nacs, collectable glasses and plates and etc.. when I house clean. Anything that is washable goes into the dishwasher, even hats too!
I had been sold on Whirlpool products, since I bought my washer and dryer 13 years ago, I have never had any problems with either of them and they wash 3-4 loads a day. You can't beat their heavy duty machines. They are still going strong.
I have owned other brands of dishwashers, kenmore and kitchen aid, they both required service at 3 & 4 years old and the kenmore died at 6 year mark, the kitchen aid I sold when we moved, it was a portable dishwasher.
With Whirlpool you get style and excellent performance at a great price, I would not pay over $250 for any dishwasher, with Whirlpool I got the black front, it had all of the cycles, including pots and pans, easy operation with a dail and one push button.
