I own a Whirlpool Series 6000 undercounter dishwasher. Are you looking for a machine that cleans great, quiet, and extremely reliable. Better look to a different company.
This model has two features which never worked almost from day one. There is a small soap dispenser in the door. This remained in the open position so the second washing would have no soap.
There is also a silverware dispenser in the door..The latch on this device often sprung open .This causes the silverware to fall into the machine or if you are in the process of unloading, all over your kitchen floor.
I have owned this machine for 5 years. The first time it broke it was a simple repair. Only one hundred dollars. Isn't that a joke. The minute the repair guy comes it is another one hundred dollars.
Today I went to unload this dishwasher only to find it never drained the water from the bottom. Instead it drained the water onto my hardwood floor. I hear dollars bills ringing as I dial my repair guy.
The comment was and I quote " Whirlpool machines are pure junk " . The repair for a new switch and motor would cost 250 dollars. His advise is either buy the cheapest machine you can find and when it breaks throw it out like a bad battery or buy a Kitchen Aid. I chose to buy a Kitchen Aid today and will keep my loyal readers updated. As for a Whirlpool machine, although it appears good on the outside, it is the inner workings of appliances that really tell all.
