Pros: Probably Best small Point and Shoot. Extremely Sharp. Fits in Pocket.
Cons: Does't have zoom, but you can scan to zoom later.
The Bottom Line: The Best small 35mm pocket camera for the money, retail new about $160-180.

I have been a camera buff since about 1958, having had a darkroom, and doing news and school photos. I got my first T4 from a Pawn shop to replace a broken "car" camera. I alway travel with a 35mm in the center consol.
The camera worked very well, and because of its size, I used it more often than my larger but but more delicate Pentax Me and Mx series 35's. But then on a trip to Creede, Colorado, I took a long shot at an old silvermine shack building way high above the valley floor. And because we really wanted a "good photo", I also snapped it with several lenses on my trusty Pentax Me Super.
When we got home all the developed films came back and one pack really stood out for sharpness, color balance and clarity. So I assumed it was the Pentax. But I had other photos which were taken just recently with the Yashica, and they were the ones.
I then took out a telescope eye-piece to use as a magnifier, and looked very closely. The extra resolution was obvious. So I got out a Lens Test Kit and mounted every camera and lens that I own on the tripod making sure I used a tape measure to set each lens at the equivalent focal length based distance, then sent in those films. Pentax lenses are quite good, and I did also included one shot off a Nikon lens, and an old Twin Lens Rolleiflex.
The T4 Super matched or beat everything I tried.
In doing web based research on this camera, I find that many professionals carry one of these Zeiss based T4's as a backup to their medium format. After this I found another T4 somewhere. It is also just as good. My feeling is that this is one of the best cameras to own, you should get one before film cameras go off the market.
