Have had it for 2 months now and am extremely satisfied. It is easy to use once you get the hang of it. I love having so much music available in such a small lightweight device that can be worn with the armband. I use it at the gym and when attached to your arm it is easy to see and use. The sound is excellent with the supplied headphones although they seem to use alot of power. I bought a pair of Sony headphones and they allow a louder volume. The EQ is easy to use and has some nice preset settings as well as allowing you to set your own EQ settings. Why did I buy this one instead of the IPOD? Well, the Ipod didn't have FM radio which I like to listen to at times when running. At the time I purchased the Iriver, I also purchased the AudiaX FM transmitter which I use with the MP3 player to listen to MP3s on my car stereo.
I have owned the Creative Labs Nomad II, which didn't last too long because of the small plastic controls that easily break, and I have owned the Iomega HipZip but the rechargeable battery died and one of the memory disks fried.
UPDATE: The inline recording is awesome. Just plug into the headphone jack of your CD player, play your CD and hit record on the MP3 player. I also record directly off my XM satellite radio receiver. I have new music loaded all the time. I haven't had any problems whatsoever. I love not having to use a PC to load music.
