I recently purchased the Palm Zire 72 Special Edition and I love it. I spent about 6 months doing research on PDAs and after going through hundreds of website I finally got this one. It is great because it has so many features and abilities.
1. Bluetooth - Bluetooth is a great feature that allows you to expand the abilities of your Palm Zire 72 SE. Currently I am not using this feature, but there is always the possibility.
2. Voice Recorder - This is a very handy feature that can come into good use many times. It is great for remember a quick thought.
3. MP3 Player - There's nothing like being able to use a PDA and listen to music at the same time. With the Palm Zire 72 SE, you can! The bigger the expansion card you have, the more songs you can hold.
4. Digital Camera - Another great feature is the built-in digital camera. No flash, but still handy to have. Once again, the more room on the expansion card the more pictures you can hold.
5. Color Screen - The screen on the Zire 72 SE is vivid and colorful and supports 65,000+ colors.
6. Processor - The 312 MHz Intel Processor is very fast and powerful compared to many other PDAs.
7. Other features - There is also a stereo headphone jack, built in speakers, expansion slot, infrared port, 5-way Navigator, etc. All of which are very handy.

One of the best things about a PDA is all the programs, games, and applications you can download, many of which are free!

Also, if you are interested, the Palm Zire 72 can use the Palm GPS Navigator. Though expensive, it has many features and can give you fast driving directions.

If you plan to get this PDA, I reccommend a couple of things.
1. Get a screen protector.
2. Buy the Palm Zire 72 Hard Case.
3. Download some applications (www.palmsource.com, www.freewarepalm.com, www.palmgear.com, www.download.com, etc.)
4. Download AvantGo (one of the best free applications! - like a little internet)
5. Learn the features and explore the web to find new and interesting things.
6. Have FUN!

I bought my pda from PalmOne.com. The price is pretty similar to the other sites and it comes with a $50 gift card if you trade in your old pda. I also got a $50 rebate. Also, if you buy it from PalmOne you get a free expansion card. So I paid $300, but I got a $50 rebate, a $50 gift certificate to use at PalmOne, and a free expansion card.

I would recommend the Palm Zire 72 Special Edition PDA to anyone who wants a great PDA thats affordable and had many features.

By the way, that one bad review about this PDA (1 star) is a mistake. Whoever wrote that meant the Palm Zire 72 ( not the special edition). The older one had paint problems and peeled, but the special edition doesn't. So if you were worrying, don't. This PDA is great!
