Pros:Low cost. Excellent thick, crisp waffles. Easy to store
Cons:Does not look like a professional waffle maker. No on-off switch.
I returned my Waring "Professional" maker due to electrical short and bought the Presto. This is half the price. It makes excellent thick Belgium waffles. It appears that the extra price for the Waring is just to add the stand to make it look professional. Instead of needing a dedicated stand which takes up space, Presto merely makes use of your countertop to flip the waffles. The bottom line is you get the same flipping action which makes the waffles evenly cooked and toasted on the outside without. Brushed on Wesson oil for the first time and waffles never stick. Do not use Pam spray as this will build up over time and actually makes sticking worse (reason why I had to throw away old waffle maker and pancake griddle). Will only use oil from now on every once in a while. If you have much counter space to waste and want to impress people thinking you have a professional waffle maker get the Waring. But if you are a practical person and do not care what the thing looks like and just want excellent waffles, save yourself some money and space and get the Presto machine/
