Pros: Thin profile, stylish looks
Cons: photographic images look grainy, no DVI input, bad backlight
The Bottom Line: Easy controls and setup and it's unique style and good application visuals make this monitor attractive, however poor image quality detracts it from those working with digital photography.

| triplaxis's Full Review: Daewoo L17D) 17 inch LCD Monitor |
I bought the Daewoo L17D and I was pleased with its performance. The styling is excellent and it takes up minimal deskspace with it's small footprint. Thanks to 3rd generation TFT technology, the profile of the panel is less than an inch deep.
Setting up the monitor is simple. A power cord and analog video are the only cables needed. The AUTO function works great in adjusting the monitor's various settings to bring the optimal sharpness. Other options such as brightness and contrast can be easily adjusted using the very clear menu system.
Unfortunately, the panel quality isn't the best available. When dealing with digital photographic images, the panel was not able to blend the colours accurately, creating a grainy effect, which was very disappointing. Additionally, the backlight is not well balanced over the screen, and you will notice on a black screen brighter spots on the outside periferee of the panel.
The panel does well however with general applications and video games. I had noticed no ghosting whatsoever, as it is a 3rd generation TFT.
I also own a Samsung 172T and the quality comparison is obviously superior to the Daewoo. I would recommend looking for better known brands, as Daewoo is not a specialist in LCD panels, and this is obvious in the quality of their latest generation of flat panel monitors.
