I'm from the Cleveland area and we have a BD's mongolian bbq on the eastside of Cleveland in Coventry.. It's about a 45 minute drive from certain areas of the west-side but, soo worth it !
For those who have NEVER been it's a GREAT place to take friends/family for a unique dining experience.. It's rather spacious, interesting to watch people and the cooks.
The staff is very friendly and very helpful. *If you have food allergies you can get special service
It's set up like a buffet EXCEPT that EVERYTHING is RAW... You pick up a bowl and add your MEAT: BEEF (ribeye, sirloin) CHICKEN, or SEAFOOD (pollack, shrimp, calamari, scallops) etc.. Move to VEGGIES: carrots, beans, sprouts, tofu, peppers, onions, corn etc... Then the SAUCE/SPICES theres many to choose from sweet--savory and EVERYTHNG in between.... Go easy on sauce/spices they are strong and sometimes HOT !
Then take your bowl to the mongolian style grill where cooks chop it up, cook and add the sauce and spices...
The GRILLARZ are there to cook and entertain, there's music laughter and lots of NOISE !
There's also all you can eat SOUP and SALAD ! The soups are homemade and very, very tasty !
If you sign-up at club MONGO you get e-mail updates and special online offers like a BOGO free stir-fry meal for your birthday or FREE dessert !
There's plenty of PRO's about MONGOLIAN BBQ here are some of the CONS...
It's a little expensive... It's about $15 dollars per person.. Kids eat FREE ! Or atleast mine do they NEVER charge us for our kids.
The location: There's no easy way IN/OUT of Coventry and you have to pay to park and sometimes park far away. That's difficult when navigating a double stroller... The restaurant is on the small side and tends to fill up fast during peak times.... So, get there before 5pm on the weekends.
* I HATE sitting in the upper level it's terrible to get around especially if you are with a GROUP !
* I wish there was one closer to the far west side.. Lakewood, Rocky River, Bay, Avon/Avon Lake area ! Tons of potiential !
