For years Baskin Robbins has been selling ice cream to anyone looking to cool off on a hot summer day, and with over 2700 locations in the United States, it's a proven fact that they have been quite successful. They really hit their mark by being one of the first ice cream stores to sell so many different flavors on a daily basis, and with the constant advertising that they always have 31 flavors of ice cream to choose from, loyal customers keep returning for some of the their delicious ice creams. Over the years, more and more menu items have been added to stay with the changing times, and to offer their ice creams by new methods to new customers around the country. By far, they are the most recognizable ice cream establishment around, and when someone says "Baskin Robbins", most people know exactly what they have to offer.
When you walk into a Baskin Robbins, you get exactly what you would expect from an ice cream parlor. The front counter spans usually the entire span of the store facing the customer, with all of the ice cream freezers right in front of you. All of the flavors are displayed in large cartons of ice cream so you can see exactly what you are going to get. Each ice cream also has a title that further describes the ice cream flavor, and often lists all of the main ingredients under the title to let you know whether there are nuts of other candies included. Off to one side they have another freezer which shows off some of their specialty items, which include pre-made ice cream sandwiches (of course with their ice creams) as well as their ice cream cakes. These displays of the cakes show off just some of what they can do, as you can also special-order an ice cream cake of the flavor you desire the most.
When you are ready to place an order for the ice cream you desire, you can proceed to the counter to place your order. You can choose ice cream in sugar or cake cones, or if you feel like splurging, you can even get the ice cream served in waffle cones. If a cone isn't your style, they do also serve it in bowls with nice little spoons to eat it with. Among the many items on their menu, you can order ice cream sundaes, ice cream shakes, cappuccino coffee's mixed with ice cream, fruit drinks, smoothies, or even ice cream floats. If you can think of a way for ice cream to be served, they have some version of it available for purchase. If you just want to take home some of their ice cream, you can have a pint or quart packages up for you to take home. I have done this a number of times if I am really craving one of their selections, and it doesn't take too much time for one of their customer service specialists to fix it up for you.
Baskin Robbins is a great place to go if you want to enjoy some great pre-made ice cream, and it's often a place you can enjoy with friends. They keep the stores on a high air-conditioned state during the summer, so it is a good escape from the sun, and you can choose to eat your ice cream in the store. They do have limited seating though, so if it is a busy period, you may have no choice but to go back outside. A couple of my favorite menu items are their chocolate-chip mint shakes, their chocolate peanut-butter ice cream, and their raspberry sorbet. If you cannot quite decide what you would like to have, they even offer free tastes on little spoons at no charge, and it could steer you in a nice direction. Baskin Robbins is a little on the expensive side now, with a large shake between $3 and $4, and a single scoop of ice cream just short of $2.00. Setting aside the cost for the experience, the ice cream is worth it, and if you only have it occasionally, it could really hit the spot. Baskin Robbins is very well recommended for all of its choices, and easy availability with so many different locations.
