Baskin Robbins is infamous around the country, and around the world for that matter, for great ice cream, cakes, and desserts. Whether your driving on a family vacation, or walking through your neighborhood, you know that once you see that blue and pink Baskin Robbins sign, your in for a treat!
There are many things which I enjoy about my local Baskin Robbins Scoop Shop. Firstly, my local store in Ridgewood, NY, has been voted one of the cleanist restaurants in New York City by the NY Daily News. That alone gives me the incentive to take my family there. The store is always clean, bright, and airy. Even with a line going out the door on a warm July night, the store is still pleasent.
The staff at Baskin Robbins is always friendly, helpful, and couteous. Whether you are going to a family owned store, or a mini Baskin Robbins sharing space with a Dunkin Donuts (there are quite a few of these in the NY area)the service is always with a smile.
That brings me to another great point. They are true to what a chain resaurant is supposed to deliver. How many times have you gone to your favorite chain restaurant away from home, and been dissapointed? Your expecting that same food, service, and prices that you get in your local restaurant, only to be sadly dissapointed. Chain restaurants are supposed to be repititious, as Baskin Robbins is. Whether you in Maine, or Alaska, you will always get the same prices, great desserts, and good service.
And how about those desserts? From Blasts, to sundaes, to clown cones, Baskin Robbins will satisfy anyone's personal taste. What I appreciate at Baskin Robbins is there wide selection of low fat, fat free, and sugar free products. Being a diabetic, this is truly a blessing not only for myself, but for my 2 year old. I don't know about you other parents but ice cream before bed time is bad enough as is! Give them the sugar free, and they will never notice the difference!
The only problem I have with Baskin Robbins is there prices. For a family of three, you will spend quite a bit. I recommend using the coupons which are frequently found in the local paper. Another great recommendation is to ask the scooper to split up one portion of ice cream into two cups for the kids to split. They will be happy to do it!
Here's a cute story. About 3 months ago, all of the local Baskin Robbins in the NY Metro area had a free scoop night. From 5-10pm, you could go into any Baskin Robbins, and get a free scoop of ice cream! My brother, and his friends, hit a total of 32 scoops shops in record time! They just went from store to store, collecting there ice cream! They kept a large cooler in the back of the truck, and whatever they couldn't eat, they covered, brought home, and enjoyed for months to come! Too Funny!!!!
All in all, I recommend Baskin Robbins highly. Their overall service, and selection, is hard to beat!
