Pros: quick, convenient, tasty food, no dirty dishes
Cons: no drive-thru, owned by McDonald's, small and few tables
The Bottom Line: A few pennies more is worth not getting shoe-leather meat. Boston Market is worth every penny.

| bperreault's Full Review: Boston Market |
It is one of those days again-forgot to defrost, don’t feel like cooking, busy doing something else. You take your pick. I hate to cook. I’ve cooked for 35 years and perfected it, so why continue? All are good reason to go to Boston Market.
Boston Market first opened in MA in 1985 as Boston Chicken. It changed its name because it serves more than chicken now. They now have 650 restaurants in 28 states and are headquartered in Colorado. They even have frozen Boston Market products in the some grocery stores.
I am not a lover of fast food chains and will not step foot in a McDonald’s. You can imagine my surprise when I read it is now a “wholly owed subsidiary of McDonald’s Corporation”. Why can McDonald’s learn from Boston Market and get rid of hot pickles and a mustard/ketchup slop on shoe-leather meat? Too much to ask, I guess.
We have 2 Boston Market restaurants near us; one 15 minutes south of us and another 15 minutes north of us. Both are simply decorated typical of a fast food restaurant. Ours are done with dark green walls with a few small tables. I have only eating in the restaurant itself a few times since we now primarily do take-out. The service has always been friendly and efficient.
Besides the ¼ and ½ dark or white chicken, they offer meatloaf, ham, pot pies, and turkey ranging in price from $4.29 to $6.79 depending on the amount of side dishes you order. Sandwiches and a few salads are also on the menu. For vegetarians you can order 3 side dishes with cornbread for $3.99. Desserts are limited with only cookies, brownies, and a few pies and cakes.
Their rotisserie-cooked meat is very moist. I have not had their meatloaf or pot pies but my mother loves them. The side dishes are great. Real mashed potatoes, spiced apples, and cranberries are my favorites. My husband always gets their creamed spinach. They also have corn on the cob, garlic new potatoes, vegetable medley and stuffing.
Tonight the 3 or us ordered the ¼ white chicken, meatloaf and a turkey sandwich with all the cornbread and side orders. The cost was $17. Last night’s dinner for one in an Italian restaurant cost more and it wasn’t that great.
Mom and I go on line to pick the side dishes we want. We also have a menu right by the phone. Of course, hubby always gets the job of pick-up. That way he can feel he is responsible for dinner.
Another advantage to Boston Market is the large divided dishes the food comes in. No dirty dishes to wash this night!
