My wife and I really love this restaurant, we eat there quite often. However we had an unfortunate incident which we consider to be quite serious.
On Saturday, March 25 at about 7:30 P.M. we dined at the Red Bug Lake Road, Winter Springs location.
We had been seated adjacent to a party of about 8-10 with several children. Apparently the adults were enjoying themselves, and the children were not being supervised.
We ordered drinks, and were enjoying our appetizers when I was hit in the face by a large ball of wadded up food. It was immediately apparent who the responsible party was, and understandably I was quite upset. I said very loudly, 'Would you please take control of your children'. To which they responded,'What's you problem they're just kids'. There was never any attempt at an apology, or any kind of explanation. A heated exchange ensued. I can assure you that while we were agitated, no one in our party was ever profane, vulgar, or threatening.
After several minutes the manager, Scott arrived. Although I can appreciate the fact that he was thrust into a bad situation, some things happened later which I felt could have been handled better. We left in the middle of our appetizers, as our dinner had been ruined. We did not wish to remain in the same building as these cretins. Then on the way out, the valet lost track of our car.
Later, after we had left I called to speak to the manager Scott again, and let him know that although I know you can't always pick your customers, if these ignorant boors returned -we would not. Then he had the unmitigated gall to imply that somehow we were also to blame. I was completely, and thoroughly insulted.
I'm sorry but I DON'T FEEL THAT BEING HIT BY FLYING FOOD IS ACCEPTABLE IN ANY RESTAURANT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I don't feel that is too much to ask. My wife, my mother and I were having a quiet dinner until we were so rudely interrupted. For their manager to imply that somehow we were also responsible is just adding salt to the wound. What I feel happened is that the manager saw a large party, who had already eaten, versus our small party who had not and put profit before principle. In other words, I think he was cherrypicking.
Although I don't place blame with this restaurant for being pelted with food, I am certainly not happy with the outcome.
