Pros: Get's to our home "pronto"
Cons: The taste of the fixin's and the dough just don't make it for this guy.
The Bottom Line: Go for the wings and the Cinna-stix. The pies are average at best.

| popsrocks's Full Review: Domino's Pizza |
I have perhaps 10-15 pizza places within a mile of my home. For some reason or other my girls order from Dominos for pizza to be delivered.
Now that I blame them I'll fess up and note that a couple of weekends ago I was home alone and ordered from them on my own. Never order when you are hungry! It's not healthy for your body. Ah, but I sure was satisfied.
Some Domino's Notes
I went to their site and picked up a few facts about the company and its Pizza. They opened in 1960 and now have over 7,500 stores world wide. Last year alone they sold 400 Million pies.
In the US the average person eats 46 slices per year. Ha, I believe I help bring up that average.
So let me ask you, "What are the busiest pizza ordering days of the year?"
Here ya' go but not in any particular order.
Superbowl Sunday
Thanksgiving Eve.
New Years Day
New Years Eve
Halloween
Anyways that's what the site tells us. Sounds about right to me.
Pizza, Have it your way.
That may not be the logo for this company but they do make pizza in various ways for the discerning pizza eater.
They offer 12" Medium and 14" Large pies. Both are cut up into 8 slices. The pies are made in three styles, the Classic Hand Tossed, The Crunchy Thin Crust, (my favorite) and the Ultimate Deep Dish. (my wifes favorite)
I happen to like the thin crust and they don't burn the bottom. I don't like the thicker pies that are just too chewy for my liking. The classic is OK but I wouldn't recommend it with so many other pizza places around.
The usual multi-choices of toppings are available. These seem to be pretty good quality but not enough toppings are always added. I ordered pepperoni on one side and pineapple on the other that weekend and I was disappointed. They kind of spread out the slices of pepperoni. Common' guys, "where's the beef" or whatever is in pepperoni (I don't really need to know). The same with the pineapples. There really weren't enough on that side of the pie.
I have found the thin crust is the least greasy pie. Some of the others are too "slick" for me, though the flavour is good.
The sauce on their pies is OK. I wouldn't have any of their pies without extra topping. Their plane sauce, whoops plain, doesn't make it off the ground.
They'll Stick it To You
Yes indeed, they do offer Bread Sticks and Cinna Stix. The bread sticks are a total waste. Spend your money on a bit more flavourful topped pizza if you need a carb fix. These sticks are just plain...plain. The same goes for the marinara sauce you get with it. Flat, no life, no zing, no flavour, no nuttin'.
Now the Cinna-stix are a whole different matter. These babies are good and, even after eating a hefty dinner of Domino's delights, they are light and very tasty and make a sweet end to all the other items Domino's offers like cheesy bread that is pretty good. My favorite however are Domino's...
...Chicken Wings
I like the plain and the hot that doesn't totally fire up my mouth but its still a good choice. The wings are always plump and I like them. OK, so it's not the best nutritionally but I like my wings. I don't care for Domino's Bar-b-q sauce that is offered on them.
Domino's also offers Buffalo Chicken Kickers that can also come plain, hot or with the Bar-b-q sauce. Here's the deal on them. They are white meat. White is probably better for you, but they are still breaded and cooked in some kinda oil. Hey, if I'm gonna get my fats, I'm gonna get 'em where I like them. The regular wing is my thing.
Delivery
Delivery is good. They show up about thirty to forty-five minutes later. I happen to be about half a mile from them.
They no longer have the thirty minute guarantee. That's fine by me. No need to put these kids in between the customer and business owner as to whether they made it on time. there was also something a little scary about some teen driver or any drivers zipping through streets in order to make the "on time" performance of company look good.
The pies still get to our home in good time and it's hot. Dominos has these "Heatwave" boxes that plug in somewhere and keep the pies hot like they just came out of the oven. OK, I'm gonna complain again. I don't like pies straight out of the oven. I like them to cool a bit, but it is good to know they are delivering fresh product.
Final Thoughts
I like their pies but I wouldn't go out of my way to get one. They are priced pretty much in the target price points of other take-out pie places like Papa John's and Pizza Hut and a little higher than our local mom and pop pizza eateries. Ha, I remember 15 cents a slice and $1.00 a pie at the "Prince of Pizza" in Levittown, NY as a teen when I first moved out to Long Island from NYC. That's a looong time ago it seems in the price of things.
Domino's need to add a bit more in toppings at our place. I happen to like the wings and the cinna-stix. Those are both winners...and the pounds keep rolling along.
