Pros: Delicious foods, and very good value for your money.
Cons: Loud and hectic on weekends, at least at the IHOPs near me.
The Bottom Line: IHOP is a great place to go for breakfast or lunch. And it's a decent place to go for dinner.

IHOP keeps getting better and better. At least that's how it seems to me. The more I go there, the more items I find to enjoy. Whether it's their awesome breakfast deals, a quick lunch, or even a tasty dinner, I'm finding myself wanting to go there more and more often.
Let's talk about breakfast first. IHOP is THE place to go for pancakes, as far as I'm concerned. They have so many varieties and so many toppings, I think every pancake-lover can find something to enjoy there. Here are just a few of their varieties: Harvest Grain 'N Nut, Corn Cake, Chocolate Chip, Banana-Walnut, Blueberry, Strawberry-Banana, and of course, Original Buttermilk. No matter which one you choose, they'll be very large, fluffy, and delicious. Of course, once you choose which type of pancake you want, you can also choose various toppings and syrups. For me, though, I'm happy with the original pancakes and good ol' fashioned maple syrup. But I don't want to eat just pancakes. That would be too boring. So if I eat breakfast at IHOP, I'll usually choose one of their combination platters. For instance, you can get an omelette which comes with three pancakes. I've enjoyed the Big Steak Omelette. Stuffed with steak, cheese, mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes, it's delicious! Or you can get their Breakfast Sampler: Two eggs, two bacon strips, two sausage links, two ham strips, hash browns and two pancakes. They also have crepes, waffles, and French toast. Suffice it to say, if you love breakfast, IHOP is the place to go. Huge portions of delicious food, for just a few bucks!
But to be honest, I very rarely order breakfast. By the time we wake up and get ourselves to the IHOP, it's usually "brunch" time where your meal can go either way. Whereas my husband will always order breakfast foods, I'm much more likely to drift towards lunch. I love their sandwiches, and I love the fact that they come with Fries, but you can substitute a fresh fruit cup or onion rings. Depending on the diet-commitment-level that day, I always choose either the fruit or the onion rings. My favorite of their sandwiches is their tuna melt. Served on grilled sourdough bread, the tuna is delicious, with lots of melted cheese. I've also had their burgers, which are pretty good. They're very large, and served on a huge Romano-Parmesan bun. A slightly odd variety of hamburger comes with an egg on top of the meat. You can have the egg in any style; I recommend sunny-side and letting the yolk soak into the bun's top.
There are plenty of dinner entrées, too. It's certainly not the fanciest place you can go for dinner, but they have enough choices that everyone should be able to find something they like. And if not, breakfast foods are served all day long. But I believe that breakfast foods are for breakfast time, and will always choose dinner foods at night. They have BBQ ribs and chicken. But I'll usually choose their pot roast which is very tender, and served with carrots and onions. Or, I might get their sirloin steak and fried shrimp dinner. I'll usually add a cup of soup as they make some pretty awesome soups. Their chicken noodle is really good, as is their cream of broccoli. I have to say, no matter what I've ordered, I've always enjoyed my meal.
How about the atmosphere?
Well, that varies greatly, depending on the time of day. During breakfast hours on the weekend, the place is a madhouse, to put it gently. There is usually a crowd of people waiting to get in, and the place is packed, with tables fairly close together. As the place is very kid-friendly, there are usually lots of families, and it can be a bit hectic and loud. And if you're seated near the kitchen, it can be VERY loud. By lunch it calms down a bit, and by dinner time it's very quiet.
I will say that the service tends to be very good. Even during the hectic times. The servers are very attentive, and I don't recall ever having any problems.
As for prices, they're extremely reasonable.
There are two locations near me. Spaced only a few miles apart, it's amazing to me that they both fill up on weekends, yet they do. I normally call them both and go to whichever one tells me they have the shorter wait.
This review applies to both of these locations.
