Making me hungry.. (Reply to this comment)

luckily I live about a mile from an In N Out. Actually, In N Out IS low-carb ("Atkins") friendly...it's not on the menu but you can order your burger "Protein Style" which means the meat and fixins' are wrapped in lettuce (no bun). It looks very messy...I prefer the bun (kinda toasted with that 1000 Island type spread...YUM!...I know where I'm going when I'm done with this).

Great job on the review! Would love to see some more reviews on places you visited while visiting L.A....

Thank you to all for the kind comments.
I enjoyed writing this as much as I enjoyed eating there (well almost) because I got to remember the entire experience.

This review was quite possibly the most descriptive review on food I have ever read. You made me want to go to this place right now and it's 1:06 in the morning! great review!

I sure wish we had one here in Jacksonville I would love to try it. As Kieli said below we do have "What-A-Burger" here and I first thought that was what your review was on. I haven't tried them either but maybe someday. I will however always be on the lookout for In & Out whereever I go, thanks for the review.

Great review... but there ARE actually places called "Whatta Burger". We have one in J-ville.

Besides any of that... fantastic review! :D

....that I know of, and I miss them so much. When I lived in California I bet I ate at In-N-Out twice a week.
