| CoolGobi's Full Review: McDonald's |
WHY DOES the world need another review on the largest fast-food chain on this planet (and perhaps others, who knows? I heard Hubble spotted a large "M" a few million light years away ...)?
Because those who haven't been to McDonald's recently will be pleasantly surprised that their favorite highway restroom stop has added a few cool items on their menu and improved on some existing ones. So if you're looking for a review extolling the virtues of the Big Mac this is not it. This is all new stuff baby!
The Flatbread Chicken Sandwich: McD finally jumped on the flat-bread (pita-bread) bandwagon and has produced a reasonably decent sandwich. Kind of like the "Chicken Fajita Pita" from competitor Jack-in-the-Box, it is a pita pocketbread filled with grilled chicken, lettuce, mayo, etc. A decent change from the Macs. It's not permanent on the menu yet, so be sure to write to your local Congressman if you want it to remain ...
Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich: Not to be confused with the more expensive "Crispy Chicken Sandwich", it's actually a well-kept secret (by McDonald's standards that means only a few million know about it). It sells for 99 cents, even when its not a part of a combo. Fairly basic, with a spicy crispy chicken fillet, lettuce, and a mayo-based sauce, it nevertheless manages to be a good quick bite.
Fudge Brownie Sundae: We jump to desserts now where a new entrant is getting increasingly popular: the brownie sundae. The name should be self-descriptive, but the taste? Yummy!
Shakes: Not new, but vastly improved. Thicker, larger, better. What else can I say? Available as before in Vanilla, Strawberry, and Chocolate. Also try the McFlurry - an old reliable with m&m's or Oreo cookies in them. Large enough for two - or a complete meal for one!
There you go folks - that should give you enough reason to fall in love with McDonald's again! And if you want more information on other McDonald's menu items, let me refer you to the other 875 reviews ...
