Pros: Great rolls.
Cons: Uninspired food, sloooow service
The Bottom Line: If you live near a Chilli's or TGIF, don't waste your time or money here

| CoolGobi's Full Review: O'Charley's |
I am surprised to see a lot of positive reviews on O'Charley's. While I admit I have been to O'C only once, I saw few redeeming qualities to warrant a second try.
Okay, so the positive thing first. The rolls. They're soft, warm, and delicious, and best of all, they're complimentary!
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, let's get down to business.
The ambiance
O'Charley's is similar in decor to a Chilli's (which is better) or a TGIFriday's (which is better as well). It's a bar and restaurant rolled into one, and has a pretty varied menu and an equally eclectic range of alcoholic drinks. Pretty clean interior, promptly seated. Clientele is mixed: from business folks to groups of friends to families.
The food
In one word, disappointing . The rolls mentioned above will raise your expectations, but the entrees don't follow the opening act. The Cajun Chicken Sandwich was uninteresting but passable, but the fries accompanying it were limp and uninspired. Even the diet Pepsi had no fizz. The Southwestern Chicken Quesadilla was bland and the salsa accompanying obviously came from a can. Two entrees randomly chosen from the menu - and they both were duds.
The service
How long did we have to wait for our less than spectacular entrees? Too long. Even though we picked it off the lunch menu, it took a good 40 minutes before they arrived. (Maybe they couldn't find the can opener?) The waiter seemed to be spread too thin over too many tables, and as a consequence getting drink refills were also a bit of a chore. On the positive side, he did seem to try real hard.
The conclusion: Why bother?
Great rolls, but when restaurants are a dime a dozen, why would I waste my time or money here? Right. I wouldn't. Nor should you - especially if you are close to a TGIF or Chilli's.
