| sliznyak2's Full Review: Panda Express |
I have been to a panda express on a few occasions. My first experience was a two entree lunch. I have been there three times since then and I have had positive experience all four times. The airport location is exceptionally clean, new and services great food.
This is an enormously large and popular restaurant chain. The basic concept is quality fresh asian cuisine delivered in shape of a fast food restaurant. The concept seems to sell well since there are almost 1,000 restaurants in United States, Puerto Rico and Japan. The fact that they have them in Japan convinces me of some relation to authenticity of the food they present.
Although I have to say that this is not the best Asian dining I have had, it is a decent meal at a decent price in a decent restaurant facility. Basically, Panda Express does not thrill me as the best place to dine out but it is just appealing enough to go back to. Let me explain why.
The value of the meal is quite difficult to beat. You get a two entree meal with two sides of meats of your choice and a choice of chow mein or fried rice which will run you $6. If you add a dollar, you get the third side. Panda Express continuously runs promotions where you get the third side free with the purchase of a two entree meal. The food quality is good. It is a chain and it is served to you in a fast food setting. However, in all four locations I have been to, the food was presented in a very clean environment and I had no doubts about its freshness factor. It is one of the best when you have to pick between those mall food court restaurants which serve you Chinese cuisine with two or three entrees. And with any fast food hamburger or taco place charging you $5-$7 for even a value meal, this is hard to beat provided that you are actually getting a large plate of food. The menu usually has Mongolian Beef with broccolli, mandarin chicken, general tsao chicken, Sweet and sour pork, Sesame Chicken and a new firecracker chicken and new firecracker shrimp plate which was introduced at the beginning of this year for the Chinese New Year. It comes at a premium extra dollar price.
The restaurants themselves are mostly brand new. The floors, counters, bathrooms, fountain drinks area are all very clean and maintained clean no matter what time of the day you are there. Customer service is also very good for a fast food chain. Although this establishment offers only limited services, when they do serve you food, it is in a very proper, polite manner. This was especially the case with high customer service at the airport location in Denver International Airport. I was pleased to see that Panda Express does not charge you more for their menu items in the airport facility. That makes it even a better value.
Overall, the chain is a successful way to deliver quality favorite entrees at economy price. The plates are large enough to be split for two. I recommend it to anyone who is in for a quick big meal.
