Note: This review has more to do with the garlic sauce provided by Papa John's, rather than the pizza itself. Papa John's Garlic Sauce is what makes this pizza company unique to me.
Throughout my life I have tried many different pizza companies. There are so many Pizza Restaurants to choose from and they all vary in terms of quality and price. Now that we have a small child my husband and I usually have our pizza delivered as it is easier than eating out. Since my husband refuses to eat Pizza Hut because of the grease we have been ordering Dominoes for the last couple of years.
Last summer I had the chance to try Papa John's Pizza at work. They don't deliver in our area so we had never ordered from them at home. Although I thought their pizza was pretty good, I would still say that I prefer to eat Dominoes Pizza. My husband finally tried Papa John's this year and he liked it so much that he now drives to go pick up the pizza just so he can have Papa John's instead of any other brand.
Although I don't think that Papa John's Pizza is absolutely the best, I would still give this restaurant four out of five stars. The reason for my rating is the Garlic Sauce that Papa John's provides with the pizza. This Garlic dipping sauce keeps me coming back. I have now gotten to the point where when my husband places his order I have him just order me cheese bread sticks, which are great from this pizza company, to dip in the sauce. The breadsticks do come with a red dipping sauce, for anyone who likes the traditional style sauce for breadsticks, but I still prefer the Garlic Sauce. When eating the pizza I found myself just hurrying to eat the pizza part so I could get to the crust to dip in the sauce. Now I just skip the pizza altogether by just ordering bread sticks.
The dipping sauce comes in a little round white container. The top is easy to open with a convenient tab to pull on. There are instructions that come with the sauce that let the user know to shake the sauce before opening it. The ingredients of the sauce are Water, Garlic Powder, Salt, Lactic Acid, and Natural Garlic Flavoring.
The prices in our area are really reasonable. Here in Kansas City Papa John's is introducing the new thin crust pizza at a $9.99 special for a large three topping pizza. I also usually receive coupons in the mail for other specials that they have going.
I highly recommend that anyone who has never given Papa John's a try do so. They do have a delivery service if they are in your location or you can order and pick up. The couple of places that I have visited did have a couple of tables and chairs, however this is not really a dine in Pizza company. If interested their website is www.papajohns.com.
Even if you already like your pizza company, the fantastic Garlic Sauce at Papa John's makes giving this company worth a try!
