| travelplus's Full Review: Peet's Coffee & Tea |
Peet's has been around longer than Starbucks has. In 1966 Alfred Peete started his first store on Vine Street in Berkely California. I enjoy Peets better than Starbucks because of the atmosphere and the quality of the products.
Just a few weeks ago I finally made the switch from Starbucks to Peets and now cosider myself a Peetnick. I started out with their Top Blend Coffee of the Day. On my first sip, I could feel the snoothness and richness envelop my senses. I had never tasted coffee this good. While it's addictive I witheld any misconceptions.
I then had their Masala Chai Tea which is better than Starbucks. The richness of the tea enlightened my senses. I was so relaxed after finishing my tea that I needed something to eat. So I got their ginger cookie which was so powerful. The chewiness of the cookie made my lips pucker. All of their baked goods are from Artisian a bakery located in California.
On my next visit I tried their Vanilla Freddo what Starbucks calls a Frappuchino. Yet again, Peets has a better version than Starbucks. The vanilla blended in with their rich coffee hit the spot on a Silicon Valley spring day. I then ordered a Chai Latte because I felt the urge to relax again. I felt as if I was in Hawaii on a secluded beach when I tried their Chai Latte.
They also have samples of tea and other goodies too. On Mothers day I bought my mom a box of Peets Japanese Green Tea. I tasted it myself and let me tell you it is so exotic. My energy level rose after my first sip.
A few days ago I had the chance to try another Coffee of the Day.This time I ordered it with a Cinnamon Roll and my expectations have been exceeded.
The atmosphere is calm. There is no "Venti ,Grande or Tall sizes here. It's your normal small, medium, and large. Peets is like a European Cafe. I would like to work here. The customer service is better than Starbucks IMHO.
