Pros: Available everywhere, consistent "quality"
Cons: Pizza Hut went downhill in the 90s and hasn't hit bottom yet.
The Bottom Line: Avoid: The quality is just too poor and you might end up with a brief bout of gastrointestinal problems.

| scs0's Full Review: Pizza Hut |
Back in the 80s, Pizza Hut made the most awesome pizzas. I absolutely loved their pan pizzas topped with green peppers and beef. Parking lots will always packed at dinner time and going to Pizza Hut was an event.
Boy have times changed.
The quality of Pizza Hut's food has gone downhill significantly. No longer is the crust something to squirm in anticipation for, it now causes me to squirm for a toilet about a half hour after eating it. The crust is no longer bread-like and crisp: it's gooey and greasy. It's like the dip the entire thing into a deep frier to cook. The toppings now have to share space with the puddles of grease that sit on top of the cheese. And the toppings? In the past the pizza was covered with tons of small green pepper chunks. Now you'll get 1, maybe 2, small slices per slice of pizza. The beef is no longer edible, instead they taste like chunks of rubber.
I am not exaggerating when I say this, but I always get a bad case of diarrhea after eating at Pizza Hut. It's only one bout, but it's a doozy and happens every single time I eat their food. I'm not lactose intolerant either because I can drink a quart of chocolate milk and eat ice cream without any problems.
Their lunch buffets are even worse, they don't cook the pizzas long and that exaggerates the looseness of the pizza already caused by the overload of grease. And forget about going if you are a cheese or pepperoni eater because they almost never bring those out unless requested (but all pizza buffets do that)
Why did I continue going, and going for years, after Pizza Hut's quality went downhill? Denial. Seriously, Pizza Hut used to be The Ultimate Pizza, so I let the excuses flow: "this pizza must be a fluke", "maybe the oven wasn't working properly", "maybe someone new made this", etc etc etc... Like a woman returning to a man who beats her, I kept returning to Pizza Hut because it wasn't supposed to be this way. But it is. I recently returned after 2 years just to get a free DVD of one of my favorite films. Even if the food sucked, I'd still get the DVD and I would only eat a couple slices OF THIN CRUST so that I wouldn't get diarrhea. Well, I had low expectations and they were matched. At least I got my DVD, but the bowls flowed like the mighty Mississippi as soon as I got home.
My guess is that Pizza Hut began cutting corners in an effort to increase profits without cutting quality enough for customers to care. Nothing wrong with that, but Pizza Hut has gone over the line and quality is just non existant anymore. And whenever I see a Pizza Hut anymore, the parking lots are nearly deserted. True this might have something to do with the larger number of Pizza Huts around today, but I think the most likely reason is that people no longer want to eat their nasty sorry excuse for food. Pizza Hut should begin a new campaign: apologize for their lack of quality food and announce that they're going to stop coming out with gimmicky new foods and instead will return recipies of the 80s. Radio Shack recently announced it was ending the policy of taking the customer's name and address for every freaking thing bought in the store, so why can't Pizza Hut announce it made a mistake too?
MODIFICATION TO ORIGINAL POST:
There's something else that has always bothered me about Pizza Hut. They always pack tables of people immediately next to each other. If only 1 other group is in the place (a common situation anymore) then you will be placed immediately next to them while the other acre of the resturant remains empty. Why can't they space people apart?
UPDATE II:
I think the quality when downhill around the time they changed their logo from the classic Pizza Hut symbol to the "Hip and happenin'" version of the logo.
