I love pizza. I never met a pizza I didn't like. Some are better than others, yes, but there's very few restaurants that I've ever seen where I'd classify their pizza as 'not edible.' I wouldn't classify Pizza Hut's pizza as 'not edible' either, however, when I have to stop and ask myself "Am I eating someone's spit?" then I feel that I no longer want anything to do with that restaurant.

Now, that said, the story: My wife was in the hospital having back surgery, she was going to be there for several days so I, Dad, am at home with an infant and a 10 year old. Lets just say cooking wasn't going to happen, so I phoned Pizza Hut, who we'd ordered from many, many times in the past. I was greeted by some teen-ager with a nasty attidude who took my order and gave me a total, not bothering with the usual pleasantries "Anything else with that?" "Cash or Check?" etc. Well, I figured we all have bad days and left it at that.
When the pizza arrived, it wasn't wrong... indeed, it was the right crust and the right topics: pitch black. The crust was burnt, the CHEESE was burnt, the pepperoni was ashes. Now you can't tell me that they wouldn't notice this before putting it in the box... but I digress. I called them back and told them what happened. They spoke with me for about 5-10 minutes about it, and put me on hold for a bit. When someone picked the phone up again, it was the same person who had taken my order and delivered my pizza.
I'll make this simple and condence the words he had for me: "I made your pizza myself, it wasn't burnt. You're a lier and we're not making another one." So, I ask for his manager, he tells me he is the manager (though that's not what his name-tag said at the door), I ask for the store owner's name and number, he gives me a fake name and the phone number of the Subway store next door to them. Heh. I was angry. Very much so.
I got online, found the Pizza Hut corporate number and called CORPORATE customer care. I informed them what happened, they said "We'll send you a gift certificate for the price of your food and we'll call the store and tell them to remake and deliver your order IMMEDIATELY." Good support, in my opinion.
About 10 minutes later I recieved a call from the Pizza Hut store that I had ordered from. Yes, the same guy again. He states: "I got a call from corporate to replace your order. Thanks alot. Oh, and we'll have that new pizza out to you in about an hour and a half. We're busy. I'll make it all special for you."
Now, by the tone of his voice, I took the 'make it all special for you' to mean that I couldn't expect what I had ordered. I waited for it to arrive (2 hours later) and it was not only not what I ordered, but I was cared to even consider eating it. I just called the corporate customer care back and spoke with them again...
I was told that they deal with this type of action by their drivers (claiming to be managers, lieing to customers, refusing to replace incorrect orders, making threats of doing 'weird things' to food, etc) harshly. Heh, a few weeks later I thought 'I'll call again and see if he's gone before I make my order.' I called and said 'Is XXXXX there?' they said 'Yeah, just a second.' so I hung up. Sure, harshly... probably included his boss laughing with him when Coporate phoned them up and told them my story.
I wouldn't trust any branch of Pizza Hut in the future. If you try to get an order corrected, you're playing with your health.
