Yum! (Reply to this comment)
by adtrent
Hi there, after reading your review, I had a mad craving for Popeye's and had it this evening for dinner. After eating, I decided to read all of your reviews. I have to say, they're all extremely incredible and I enjoyed each and every one. You have a talent comparable to Dave Barry.
Thank you for making me smile!

Very Good food I agree (Reply to this comment)
by kimzstuffz
The first time I got to taste thier yummy chicken was about 4 months ago. The closest one is about 45 minutes away from where I live so it is not exactly convienent for my family.
It is the best fast food chicken I have ever had though and I feel worth the trip once in a while. I like the strips meal. I enjoy that it is not too spicy but tasty.
Great review. You have me craving it now.

Great Review (Reply to this comment)
by jilpie
as always! I remember eating Popeye's Chicken at an airport when I was really little, and singing
Popeye the sailor man
He lives in a garbage can
He eats all the worms and
Spits out the germs, He's
Popeye the sailor man
Hmmm... wonder why I haven't gone to the airport in a while... :D
Keep up the great work!

You don't know what you're missing by not nibbling on some juicy, succulent, young and tender, white breast meat of the spicy variety !
SPICY! Your son knows where it's at!
Thanks for a great read!

Thank you Chuck for another hoot.
Thank you Virginia for the job offer.
What did the vegetarian say when HE tried chicken for the first time¿
"Tastes like chicken."
What did the second vegetarian say when SHE (just being PC) tried chicken for the first time¿
"Tastes like popcorn."
Just pulling your foot.

What next, Chuck? (Reply to this comment)
by katybrighteyes
In a recent review, we learned that your feet smell like popcorn, and you have a problem with flatulence.
This time we learn that you write your reviews in your underwear, and chomp on big, fat, juicy breasts in the company of one worthless glob and a fartknuckle.
I need to ask Dede how she likes being adopted.
Thanks for the CHUCKle! (And plenty of 'em!)

Can you imagine the look on those rubber stampers as they read your first line and then the last line in this review on their way to rating this!!
To begin your review with, "Big juicy breasts"
and end it with,
"My vegetarian daughter-in-law gave me looks like I was gnawing on her best friend, as I sucked the juicy flavor off the bones." !
Heh, heh! Interesting!

Thanks for eating-out ... (Reply to this comment)
by fountain-head
... and tossing-out a bone of a review to amuse. TGIF ... and stockholder is kevetching about his latest dining experience !! I am HAPPY today!
Two of my 3 neices (19 & 21) are "vEgeters" ... or vEgan's (won't eat ova?) or some such thing. Their pasty-white skin, discolored-teeth, and general malaise are all I need to know about this politically-correct ... wanna-be-better-than-you ... personality defect. Sheesh, their incessant-battling long-ago-divorced parents have really fudged-them up !
I tell all of my PC friends that I am a vegetarian "... I eat every animal ... that eats vegetables..." HA!
You might appease your D-in-L by telling her that Popeye's only serves "free-range" chickens! At least rocky rooster had a "full" life ... before he was plucked, torn limb-from-limb, and deep-fat fried for your dining pleasure
Sorry to say that we don't have a Popeye's in my little enclave for the nuevo-riche'. KFC is the best we can muster ... and my gall-bladder simply cannot secrete enough bile to break-down that much Crisco.
You made me want to try POPEYE's !!

I have been a fan of yours since the Craftmatic review. This review of Popeye's was up there with another favorite of mine: The White Devil!
That one made me laugh until there were tears in my eyes.
Anyway, I too love Popeye's chicken. However I also LOVE the rice and beans. They aren't fancy, but they have a nice smoky flavor accent as if they've been cooked with bacon, which is my second favorite food after real smokehouse hot dogs! I guess I'd get along REAL well with your daughter-in-law. ;) Thanks for the tip about the potatoes - I'll give them a try next time around.
I hope you will continue to grace the cybermasses with your great sense of humor. God bless!

I Am Wondering - (Reply to this comment)
by Granniemose
why it would not be a good idea to make a TV serial or a movie out of your reviews.
You could play yourself.
Jankp could be your daughter in law
Maybe the 29th could be your son
Gary M and Gizmo could help you edit the script
I don't know who should play the idiot son in law
(any ideas?)
The precocious grand son could maybe played by one of the youngsters on the site
I might consider the sound effects.
As I sit here thinking about things (?) I can see lots of situations opening up. I know that you think you should have final cut on the script, but I think it should be me. After all, you were hardly entering high school when I was already graduating. Anyway, I did enjoy this review.

And I just love chicken!
Oh, hilarious, again, and yet so informative, Chuck. You sure have a style all your own.
I loved Sally the Salad girl! I have a step-daughter who is the strictest sort of vegetarian (and she's only 16) and it about drives me up the wall! It makes cooking for them so hard when they visit. ha ha. Oh, well, she's a nice girl. Susie the Soybean Kid, we could call her.
LOL
Thanks for the laughs and the info.

The Cajun is in the spices (Reply to this comment)
by caithnessfan
Great review.
The main difference from KFC enters the picture if you go with the Spicy (closer to Cajun but not TOO hot and spicy)
Then again I enjoy serious spice. Last time I went to an Indian eatery the chef came out to see just who was crazy enough to order the Vindaloo with at least double spices.
