Red Lobster like most restaurants had a period of time when they were awesome. You just loved the food you had to go there when ever you could afford to. There were times when it could of been very expensive to have a dinner for two. Price range $55 dollars for dinner for two this was a good couple of years ago. Yes I call this expensive when you are just starting a family and you love to eat seafood.
As the past few years have gone by the service and the quality of food has not what one would call structured by management. Service was sloppy the waitress or waiter just was not attentive to your needs. The food just did the have the great quality of years before. Before it would make you feel like you were really eating near the ocean the food just tasted fresh. The interior of our local Red Lobster what horrible. For as much as we love seafood we stopped going. Why spend money on a place that was a dive?
We decided to give Red Lobster another try this weekend. I was craving seafood the kids are away for the weekend and my Hubby is always game when he can get some Lobster. We arrived right before the main dinner rush. We were seated in about 10 minutes just long enough to look around. What a surprise we had! The entire restaurant had be remodeled! The bar area is now and open area no longer closed in. The entire look of the restaurant had look at us we do seafood and great service. It was so clean looking and it had an open feeling to it. The people working there actually looked like they were enjoying themselves. At this point I was just hoping the food would be just as great.
When I opened my menu I was surprised to see a few new dishes and some old favorites. Remember we had not been here in a long time so I am not to sure about when the menus changed. I had wanted to ask the waitress but forgot I was enjoying my meal to much. That is what I had said we enjoyed our meals.
My husband ordered Lobster, shrimp and scallops, baked potato and salad and of course you must have a bowl of clam chowder. I ordered Shrimp feast which included bread shrimp, shrimp scampi, and a spinach, bacon, rice and shrimp mixture that was out of this world! The meal also included a shrimp cocktail. We just ordered ice teas to drink. I was amazed when the salad came out that the dressing was on the side. I like it that way and it I did not ask for it to be served that way. So needless to say I was happy. Also not to forget the biscuits, the cheddar bay biscuits to be exact they are so good!
Our waitress was very friendly attentive to our needs but not over doing it. It was just the way we like it. The dinner was cheaper this time only $45. This surprised me for it seemed we had more food but yet we were not "stuffed little pigs".
We of coursed enjoyed our time at the Red Lobster with the new menu, the new look and the great service. I know we will be back soon!
