Pros:Excellent service, great food and the salad bar!
Cons:Long waits on weekends
The Bottom Line: You don't have to be a rabbit to enjoy the massive salad bar and 1lb baked potatoes of Ruby Tuesdays!
When I think of great salad bars, I think of Ruby Tuesdays. They have one of the best salad bars in our area. In addition to that, they also have wonderful entrees, appetizers and a huge chocolate sundae for dessert!
One of my good friends worked at Ruby Tuesdays a few years ago. We would often go visit her at work, prior to this, I had never been to a Ruby Tuesday's before.
The first thing I noticed about our local Ruby Tuesdays was the massive solid oak, wall length bar. It was beautiful and a vast array of liquors and wines. The second thing that caught my attention was their salad bar. It extended from the front to the back on the restaurant. The decor is one up in a sports attire. Their were stained glass lamp shades hanging over every table. There are also televisions positioned in every corner that place assorted sporting events. While at the bar you can play trivia games against people in Ruby Tuesdays across the country.
We were seated near the salad bar (yeah!). Our server was of course excellent. She was there for our every need and we did not have to ask for anything. For starters we order their sampler platter. It has chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks and potato skins. It came with honey mustard, sour cream and marinara dipping sauces.
When it came time to order our meals, I decided on the salad bar (it had intrigued me since we first walked through the door) and a loaded baked potato. My friends ordered a chicken finger salad and a penne pasta with vegetables dish. They offer a variety of items on their menu that include choices for both meat eaters and vegetarians. There is also a children's menu with a various selection.
WOW, what can I say about that salad bar but it is big!! Everything is set up in order for you to build your salad. There are both garden lettuce mixes and romaine lettuce for Caesar salads. They offer carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, cabbage, chick peas, cheese, ham, croutons, sunflower seeds, bean sprouts and assorted other salad yummies. They also have pasta salads, potato salads, Jell-O and puddings on the bar. At the end there is selection of about 7-8 dressings. The fat free ranch is one the best I have EVER had!! The salad bar is endless so you can fill your plate as many times as you want.
My baked potato was excellent. It had cheeses, scallions and bacon and was topped with butter and sour cream!! Although we were all stuffed, we decided to share their huge sundae. It comes in a huge margarita looking glass. Even the 3 of us couldn't finish it!
As far as drinks went, they have a lot of drink specials each day. I got a Bahama Mama and a Mudslide , they use the real malted milkballs in theirs! My drinks were virgin of course, because I was pregnant during this visit but I've had their alcholic versions since then and they were just as incredible.
Overall it was a terrific dining experience. The prices are just right, the waitstaff is wonderful and the food is to die for. All of this is what has kept me going to back to Ruby Tuesdays ever since.
