A few weeks ago I entered a Starbucks for the first time. I am not a coffee drinker so I didn’t think there was any reason for me to go to a Starbucks. I know that I could get hot chocolate, but I can make that at home.
My nephew Jeff is in college in Tacoma. I went to Seattle to visit him. There is a Starbucks on almost every street corner in Seattle. So as they say, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.”
My sister-in-law and my nephew talked me into going to the Starbucks at the South Center Mall. I have to admit it really didn’t take much talking to get me to go and I am very happy that we did. I have a whole new attitude about Starbucks.
When we walked in the door the lights were down low and soft music was playing. There was a very relaxed feeling in the air.
On the right side of the store was merchandise for sale. The products they sold ranged from coffee machines to teakettles to coffee cups. If the prices of the merchandise are any reflection of the quality, then their products are very high quality.
I checked the price of a teakettle. This teakettle was stainless steel and holds about 8 cups. This teakettle would probably last at least 20 years. The cost was $46.00.
In the back of the store there is a long counter area. One end is for ordering your favorite drink. The other end is where you pick up your beverage.
On the left side of the store there are 8 to 10 tables. The lighting is a little lower in this area which gave off a very relaxing feeling.
We sat drinking Carmel Apple Cider and Hot Chocolate discussing all the great buys we had just purchased. This will forever be a memory that will come to mind whenever I purchase Starbucks products.
Starbucks has a large selection of choices for the coffee drinker. You can choose the drip-brewed coffee of the day, espresso, caffe latte, caffe mocha, caffe americano, cappuccino, and frappuccino. All of these come in three sizes and range in price from $1.30 to $4.85.
For those of us that are not coffee drinkers, don’t worry they have drinks for us too. They carry a drink called a Tiazzi, which is a juiced tea. I hear that they are really good, but I haven’t tried one yet. Hot chocolate is always good, but I like to have a little almond extract added to mine. My very favorite Starbucks drink though is Carmel apple cider. This drink is very sweet and also very filling. All of these drinks come in three sizes and range in price from $2.10 to $3.80.
Before my trip to Seattle I had never purchased any Starbucks, but now I hit my local Starbucks at least once a week.
Service: Excellent service.
