Saturday was Sweetest's Day, and being the gentleman that I am, I took my girlfriend to dinner. We usually eat at the same restaurant but decided to mix it up given the occasion. We decided on Friday's.
When we arrived it looked busy. It was quarter after 6 on a Saturday night. I went ahead and put down my name. The greeter said it would be between 20 and 30 minutes. I was in no rush, and could understand why it might take awhile. She gave me a beeper/pager to hold on to, and it would vibrate and flash when my table was ready.
My girlfriend and myself sat down in the lobby for no more than 10 minutes when the pager went off. We walked to the counter, and were seated. Our waiter greeted us and brought us some drinks right away. He was a very nice guy looked about 22. He told us that the restaurant was busy so the sooner we order the better, however he told us to take our time. I was ready to order, but to my surprise,(sarcasm) my girlfriend was not. Five minutes later, we ordered. I ordered a Jack Daniels steak with a baked potato and green beans, and salad. My girlfriend ordered a salad and some sort of make your own pitas.
We both were given our salads almost immediately, and they tasted fresh. No sooner did I finish my salad, when my main dish arrived. By now I was impressed with this place, so I was anxious to try the steak. All I can say is WOW. It was amazing. A good sized 12 ounce steak, cooked to my perfection(medium well). It had a special zip to it, and I figured it was the Jack Daniels. It almost tasted like a barbecued steak, it is hard to describe, but needless to say, it was delightful. My baked potato came with sour cream, onion, bacon and cheese. Also a treat. I do not like beans, so unfortunately I can not tell you how they were. My girlfriend's pitas looked good too. Everything came separate for her and I am sure she found it amusing to put her own toppings on.
Neither of us had the capacity for dessert so we grabbed the check and left. To my surprise the check was $25. I was in shock but had no complaints. A dinner that good for 2, for under $30 was incredible. I lift a tip for the gentleman that schmoozed with me and my girlfriend and we left. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes a good steak. I can guarentee I will be back for another soon.
