Quallity... I like those Fat Fries! (Reply to this comment)
by iidays
I dont like some of the other fast food industry oils and preservatives.
There are some that carry that familiar taste on their fries , onto their hamburgers , and even some of the other baked and fried foods including fish and chicken.
Only a few fast food chains I can tollerate.
Wendy's burgers always reminded me of those store bought steaks that look like country fried beef cuts with the tenderized grain look.
Buzz-buttered steaks ! thats it! Frozen with a square of butter in the center.
Tastes are very similar.
Service is an absalute and I'm very glad you braught that up and disapointed that you had this experience.
Sometimes its just timing at some of the better locations for any fast food.
Order is very important and I'm pretty sure that if the company new of your inconvenience that they would address them and most likely the employees would gain an added quallity to their skill and confidence in their work that may find improvements noticeable enough that they could see raises on their pay checks quickly.
Good service does atract quallity customers very quickly most of the time.
The fries are bigger and thicker than Mc'Donalds.
I like the George Forman diet that includes the grill and the cheeze.
Diets are very important and differ verriely...
Science is short in the percentage of what we can proove FOR HEALTHY studies.
Some people promote dairy; some not.
Example;
A good diet includes a very important ideal to that individuals taste and cravings.(An opinion from a scientific study)
(Thats really going out of the way for some to stop at the same chain on a long trip.
... and really hard to find the same chain when we want to).
Theory can be marketed.
Sensations can catch on.
It May Be that George Forman is the answer to cheering those guys up over their and building them back to the old champions of our fast food fix with the quallity appeals of fresh food and a service to chart!
I commend this as most highly important to view so that those in the service industry can see just how their quallity affects our opinion and just what drives our better judgements!
Thanks again Jo.! .com

Re: Wendy's Still the Best (Reply to this comment)
by jo.com
Kevin that would be great. Many hotels for ex. have specific locations even if there are 30 of them. Of course I don't think they could put in thousands but maybe do it by region?? I feel though that even writing about a particular location is a good idea. I had a great experience with a Burger King and want to applaud them thus the review will be based on that location though it is a bit different than others so I'll throw some others in. But really how can we review all the restaurants. That is why when people (usually express reviews) comdemn the whole company based one location. I made it clear I hope that my experience tainted my feelings of Wendy's in general and I would avoid them but it certainly isn't based on a broad sample. Thanks for stopping by! jo

Wendy's Still the Best (Reply to this comment)
by kevintipple
here food quality wise though some of their employees, like any other business, aren't that great.
What you describe is the exception rather than the norm I believe based on my own research at a number of locations over the years as well talking to other folks. Certainly does not make you wrong. I just wish the database would be adjusted to reflect actual locations and not the entire chain.

Finger case (Reply to this comment)
by pilarzmom
in case you didn't hear, the couple charged with the infamous finger case at Wendy's in San Jose were sentenced to 9 years (husband) and 12 years (wife). There are no Wendy's near me, but the one or two times I have eaten at one while traveling haven't impressed me. My husband does swear my their Spicy Chicken Sandwich.

Re: to person who began at Wendy's and left... (Reply to this comment)

I'll research more on this "Dave Thomas Campaign".
I wonder if you imply that "Wendy's" Corporate is championing this campeign or if this was a venture of Dave's alone?
Dave's Quallity program is worth promoting...
according to some it seems now that it needs to include some of their own locations.
The food industry overall has had a smudge here and their but some with the better food ideas made it and others were left behind.
The business world itself lends itself as a part of a local community as well as special interests and invested community. Other times are more trend driven.

I began boycotting Wendy's when... (Reply to this comment)
by Penguinlady
...Dave, who was adopted himself but didn't want any information about his birthmother, led the fight to criminalize the search.
Yup, he wanted to make it illegal for adoptees and birthparents to seek any information on each other. Not just make contact that might be unwanted, but even attempt to find information.
That did it for me. I'm not a big fast-food fan, but if this had been the only place in the world to find my favorite food, I would never have gone back after I learned what he was up to.
How dare he try to make decisions about, and attempt to control, other people's lives? His ego was as overwhelming as his establishments are underwhelming.
I have no idea if Wendy's corporate is continuing his campaign, but I'll never go back.

Big kids??? (Reply to this comment)

burger, chicken nuggets, fries, a drink and a toy
Either they're anticipating extremely hungry children at this location, or you left out an 'or' between burger and chicken :)
minor typo

Re: "Quality is our recipe." (Reply to this comment)
by jo.com
Hi I'm not sure what changed you mean actually. Perhaps over time my tastes have changed which is why we are encouraged to update our reviews. I just updated an online service review for example. Maybe if I had written this when I wasn't as fussy as I am now I would have had a different rating. This is as of today. If I do for some reason (peer pressure:) go to another one and it is fantastic I will certainly update the review. As it stands, I am not seeking out Wendy's at age 54. Hope this helps to clarify my review. jo

"Quality is our recipe."
(EDITED comment)by iidays
Well I didn't want to do this but I have, AND I WILL ADJUST MY COMMENT IF i SEE CHANGES IN THE REVIEW.
On the journey of traveling Wendy's drive through stops, I could only wonder if there were any changes other than "missing Dave"?
A sad loss I agree and wished at one point that for the compassion he shaired with us and his employees that some of our finest 5star chefs in this world could have stepped in to cook for a day to sort of show our appreciation and offer a unique condolance to both the connisuers of the fast food world and the relief to saddened eployees so that they might carry on with these great traditions in quallity being handed or passed the tourch so to say.
In statements of contradiction with the final bottom line to (My rating:)
(My rating:
"Can I say that all 6,000 Wendys have gone downhill and I will never go into one again? No of course not. I can certainly say I will never go back to this location. I can also say that based on this experience I would certainly think twice before I chose Wendys again. I cant recommend Wendys.
~to~ The Bottom Line
I won't seek out Wendy's again no matter where it is located. I think this chain has gone downhill since Dave passed away.
Now my somewhat other helpful questions:
Were the broccoli and cheese ever changed?
No.
Has the Ice cream...(you didn't say thit it had (which it hasn't)) and French fries are great a& not like ...Mc

I Still Like 'Em (Reply to this comment)
by krus54
I don't eat at fast food places much anymore, but Wendy's is still my favorite to take the kids. Perhaps you hit a bad location or a bad time (maybe the manager was out or they were short on help that day to run efficiently).
Even when Dave was alive I found that the quality/cleanliness varied at different locations. I have seen that at ALL fast food restaurants, except McDonalds which seems mostly consistent in it's lack of cleanliness (especially in the bathrooms).
There are times when we're traveling and need to stop that I'll say the heck with the diet and just chow down on a Wendy's classic hamburger . I don't see much difference in the way the food is prepared and how it tastes now compared to the way it was before Dave died.
As much as I despise McDonalds, I STILL feel they are among the best of the world's fast food french fries. When I was eating all that stuff I was known to go through Wendy's drive-thru for a hamburger and go next door to a McDonalds drive-thru for the fries.
