Pros: cleanliness, fast service, inexpensive, tolerable food, not just burger & fries,
Cons: high sodium and fat, service person taking order won't listen!
The Bottom Line: I recommend Burger King when travelling because of food quality, food choice and price. Be warned that drive though service may be lacking

I mentioned in another fast food review that we are not fast food people. Out experience with fast food tends to be that when travelling and only those times where we don't want to take the time to stop at a sit down restaurant. Now this is a personal choice, one we are quite comfortable with, but it does make us more intune to comparing fast food to out normal foods.
What we wanted: We wanted a fast, drive through restaurant so we could continue our trip without taking the time to stop at a sit down restaurant.
Where we stopped: We have stopped at one Wendy's restaurant about a half dozen times over the past 10 years.
The Good: First, I will clarify that by the time we stop we have been on the road for over and hour, normally around the dinner hour. We know that fast food in general is higher is sodium and fat content but given our very healthy normal diet, we feel that on the rare occasion fast food is ok. Our regular order is a double cheese burger with fries no pickles, large fries, large pop, large chili, baked potato with no butter and extra sour cream.
From my perspective, I've never had a problem with my order from Wendy's. It consisently comes out large chili with baked potato no butter and extra sour cream. The chili has a nice medium heat flavour. The size is generous. It comes with extra hot sauce that can be stirred into the chili, a package of crackers and a spoon. The baked potato comes sprinkeled with chives, in a two piece plastic container. They always add the extra sour cream that comes in a plastic container with foil type sealed pull off lid. Both come out piping hot. So I have no complaints with the food I get from Wendy's.
From my husband's perspective, he hates dill pickles so always orders his burgers without pickles. Every single time we have gone through the drive-in he has checked his burger for pickles and every single time he has had to go in and get another burger because the put pickles on the burger. This ultimately takes up the time we wanted to spend travelling so delays our progress. This is very annoying and I did call this Wendy's location regarding this matter. We received a coupon for a free burger with no pickles (even marked on the coupon) of which we took advantage of. You guessed it, there were pickles on the burger!
I think the problem is those working the ordered either don't mark no pickles or those making the burgers are so used to making everything the same they forget to leave the pickle off. For that reason, I cannot give a high rating to Wendy's because they simply are not listening to the customer. Overall I will rate this fast food place higher because of the qualit of food, fast service and other food choices besides just burgers.
