What kind of hamburger is adorned with mustard? A What-A-Burger, thats which kind. I unpleasantly found that out tonight. Besides being over priced, and incredibly slow, What-A-Burger is not tops on my list.
Fresh is something What-A-Burger is, everything is made only when you order it and not before.
I ordered a What-A-Burger, assuming it would resemble a Whopper or Big Mac, to my dissapointment it did no live up to my expectations. A thinly sliced hamburger that came apart easier than it should, including non-fluffy buns. Little letuce chips decorated the burger with a lone pickle. And then there was this yellow stuff all over the top bun, upon first taste it made itself clear that it was mustard. Mustard has no business being on anything unless Ketchup is leading the way. Overall the hamburger tasted bad and was hard to keep together, I only finished 3/4 of it.
The fries on the other hand, are tied for the best chain fries I've ever had. Tied with Wendy's.
The fountain was very nice, offering a choice of six or seven different soda choices.
Overall design of restaurant
While the restaurant was very clean and well kempt, the overall design was less than pleasant. In order to get ketchup, napkins and straws you have to walk about fifteen feet to get the drink and cap for the drink. Even farther away is the nearest garbage disposal unit.
The seats are as comfortable as you'd expect in a fast food restaurant, nothing special, but nothing wrong with them.
The reason I chose Whataburger is because it was 11:10 in the P.M. and Wendy's had closed their doors ten minutes prior.
The young lady who took my order looked like she was ready to fall asleep. So did those cooking in the back. It took about three minutes before they even acknowledged me standing at the counter.
Your order isn't made until you order, and it shows, it takes FOREVER! I don't mind heat lamps nearly as much now. I wonder if you can call your order ahead.
Comparible to that of Burger King or McDonalds, but without the qua"cough"lity. I spent $4.29 tonight for a meal that would have cost me $4.07 at Burger King.
Whataburger is far from my initial choice if the other places are open. The next time I'm in the mood for a midnight snack I'm going to go to Safeway and buy a frozen pizza, it will take the same amount of time.
