Pros: Bathrooms Are Nice, Horrible Service Makes McDonald's Seem Like A 5 Star Restaurant
Cons: Horrible Service, Long Wait Times, Food Is Not Worth Wait
The Bottom Line: If you don't mind starving yourself to people who could care less about you and food that's not worth it...then the Olive Garden is your place.

Why my father wanted to go to this restaurant for his birthday I have no idea
but he really wanted to go so we went. And this will be the last time I will ever go to Olive Garden. I've had bad experiences at this place but this experience has made me reach my boiling point.
First of all
the wait is just out of control! We went to the Olive Garden in Secaucus, NJ. How can this place have people wait over 1 ½ hours (at least thats what they tell the customers) for food thats not even worth it and service thats just horrible? We arrived at the restaurant at 6:45pm on 1/27/07...we didnt leave until 9pm. AND WE DIDNT EVEN EAT! We were told that the wait time would be about 1 hour and 15 minutes. I would have left as soon as I heard this but my father really wanted to eat there. So we waited
and waited
and waited
and waited
and (I think youre starting to get the point here) waited
and waited
went to the bathroom and came back
and waited
and waited. Once an hour and 20 minutes passed I went to the hostess (about 3 times) to find out when well be seated. The first time I was told it would be another 10 minutes, the second time were told another 5 minutes, then the third time (I was in a pretty good mood by then - NOT) we were told to wait by the person who will seat us. When they were about to seat us they were going to seat us at a table for 4
we were a party of 5. So now we had to wait even more.
Second
my fathers patience has run out by this time. He had asked for a manager who never showed up. We spent the last 20 minutes of our beautiful stay waiting for the Mystery Manager. We asked again to speak with the manager and we were told that he will be available but I don't think that place had a manager because one never showed up. After that I had to take the pager from my fathers hand before he Frisbee chucked it to the hostess face for being so useless and rude.
Third
why is it so difficult to come up with a system that will seat customers quickly? Would you like waiting 2 hours for service thats not up to par and food thats not even that great? The few times we DID manager to eat there the service was horrible and I recall my 12 year old niece making better pasta. The servers would take way to long to bring you your drinks and when the food hits your table you can tell that it's been sitting under the heater for quite some time. You can't even make any reservations and you can't do call ahead seating. We've pretty much experienced this in 2 other Olive Gardens that we've been to (Springfield, NJ and Livingston, NJ). I'm going to assume that it's like this at every other Olive Garden location.
In the end we ended up going to a Chili's where we were seated within 20 minutes, the service was awesome, the food was great, and my father really had a great time!
I made a complaint to Olive Garden about my horrible experience. I will never go back to that place again even if they told me dinner is free. You would have to wait in the morning to be seated early in the evening. Yet there are people who are willing to make the wait to eat there.
WHY?!?!?!
