| manky's Full Review: Olive Garden |
I always have to remember to at least attempt to pace myself when eating at the Olive Garden. With all the yummy appetizers you can order... followed by endless breadsticks and salad, an entree can barely fit in by the time it arrives. Then your palette tempts itself with the delicious prospect of a scrumptious dessert!
Seriously, I will often opt to take approximately half of my selected entree home in order to accommodate all the options. Plus you can always stash a few of those tasty breadsticks along side in the carry out box!
Thankfully the Olive Garden has a huge list of entrees to choose from featuring: vegetarian, beef, seafood, or poultry. Quickly after ordering, you are presented with warm breadsticks... then soon followed by a hearty salad. All hosts and waitpeople have been nothing but entertaining and helpful at the restaurants I've attended, earning every penny of their tips. Plus, when your main dishes arrive, you can choose to have parmesan on it or not... and the waitperson grate it fresh on your platter, right there in front of you!
Due to the higher prices, and the large meals, The Olive Garden is usually saved for special occasions and outings, larger gatherings, and/or leisurely afternoon meals with friends. The biggest set back is that they don't usually accept reservations. So if you hit a busy night (which is usually the case) you may have to wait around for a while. They do have beepers for the waiting list at some larger restaurants to avoid confusing among waitees.
