Pros:Does all that it's intended to do easily and without fuss
Cons:The safety spring on the blade guard was a bit overly strong on our unit.
The Bottom Line: The Rockwell is the most versatile and easy to use. It's a great little indoor saw, complete with its own bag to catch sawdust.
We have used the Rockwell saw for flooring and woodwork on the walls with no difficulties whatsoever. There is enough power to do what's necessary and the circular blade has thus far been sturdy. I actually bought it for my wife because it's lighter to use and therefore easier to cut accurately. It's easy to see the cutting line, both from the laser and the by watching the blade. If I were to make a change, it would be to weaken the spring that holds the spinning blade back behind the guard. When starting to cut, it's necessary to push down and push a button to bring the blade into play. Sometimes the effort seems to be a bit much, but that's the only quibble. The blade is not hard to change, and the saw seems to be the right size: between a Dremel and full-sized hand-held electric saw. If I were to buy only one saw, I'd get something larger, but for all the in-between jobs, it makes things a lot easier. It does cut a variety or materials and also does a nice job of NOT chewing up what is being cut because of it's high-speed blade. In comparing it with its competition, it just seems to be a bit more useful and workman-like.
