My daughter enjoys having her toe and fingernails painted. She is only four years of age and it can be difficult to have her sit while they dry. As a result, I will only use quick dry formulas as it prevents the polish from smearing. I have used many of the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri and Santa recently brought her a new color for her stocking. This new color is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Dry Nail Color Silver Sweep.
Each bottle contains .31 fl ounces of polish. The bottles are clear glass and have a triangular shape. The lid unscrews and provides a brush that is used to apply the polish. The top of the cap has a sticker that provides the shade name.
The color appears in the bottle as a highly shiny metallic hue. When applied on the nail, the color is identical. The color remains consistent once it has dried. One of the concerns I have when using metallic colors is that they do tend to show the brush strokes. I was surprised to find that this didn’t happen. The polish is as thick as other brands but the strength of the color results in a need for one coat. Using a second coat makes the nail appear to heavy and thick. I would recommend a clear coat to prevent chips. The silver coloring stands out nicely on the nails.
The best feature of this polish is that it is surface dry in a minute. If you get any polish on the skin, you will want to remove it immediately as it quickly dries. If you have not removed it within ten seconds, you will need a polish remover. Although it feels dry, the polish has not fully set and may be vulnerable. Typically, after a few minutes, the polish will be completely dry. As one coat is needed, the polish will dry even quicker. The dry outer shell does provide some protection from indentations or streaks. After three uses, my daughter has not ruined a set of polished silver nails. We have had a few touch ups needed on some of the other colors but this is due to the need for a second coat.
Removing the polish is easy and taken care of with any nail polish remover. I use non-acetone formulas at home and they have no problem removing the silver coloring.
I wish the brush that was included would be a little smaller as mistakes are obvious with this particular color. The brush size is standard with most other polishes but it would have been helpful to have something a little better suited for close detail.
Santa paid about $4 for this color at a local retail store. This line of nail polish can be found in most stores that offer a beauty section but color choices may be limited. This color is relatively common in stores that feature a medium to large sized beauty section.
