Pros:Nice shimmer, squeeze bottle, washable from clothing, inexpensive.
Cons:Has the potential for kids to make a complete mess.
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a glitter glue that spreads easier than most, this is worth checking out.
Glitter glue can be a great thing for kids to work with if they are in to crafts or art but it can make a huge mess. The glue can get smeared all over things and when it dries it can be hard to clean up. Sargent Glitter Glue comes in an eight ounce squeeze bottle and sells for two to three dollars but you can get a nice price break if you can find them in a set. There are a total of eight colors to choose from but the orange and purple are two of my favorites. They are sweet picks for Halloween crafts but there are tons of other uses for them. One of the nicest things is that it does wash off clothing; if it gets on your skin it won't irritate it but you are going to want to wash it off and soon as possible. If you are getting this for younger kids you are going to want to make sure that they don't get it in their face because it could end up in their eyes. The orange glitter glue is not a bright shade, it is more of a bronze color but if you are using it for pumpkins you will like the look of it. You can use this as a regular glue and it will dry like a regular kids glue but it will not be completely clear so you will have some orange in the glue. I like to use this with a basic clear glue to water it down a little; you can use a paint brush to apply it to things that you want to sparkle but the results are not going to look super professional so the are not going to have the same look as something that is done with a glitter pen or something that is made specifically for a glitter or sparkle overlay. Some glitter glues are hard to work with and the squeeze bottles require a lot of force to get the liquid out; this doesn't flow as easily as regular all purpose glue but it isn't difficult to get out of the bottle. I suggest leaving them stored upside down so you don't have a problem with air bubbles. When I first got a couple bottles of these I went to use one and a huge wad of it shot out and splattered on the page, thankfully it wasn't something that was completely ruined but I did have to work fast to get the glue off the paper. You are going to want to use this on cardstock or something thick like poster board to keep it from warping; if you are watering it down a little and using a paint brush to apply it then chances are you aren't going to have that kind of a problem with it. Drying times are going to vary depending on what you are using it on and you are going to want to do tests on new pieces; for unfinished wood you would have some problems with it warping if you go thick with it but if you are putting it on in a thin layer you shouldn't have any problems. This is not something that you are going to want to use felt straight from the bottle because the tip is going to end up with it snagging or catching on the felt. Kids will like working with this color for general crafts but for Halloween it is a great pick. You are going to want to keep an eye on them the first couple of times that they use it; they have to learn how much pressure they are going to need to use on the bottle without it spurting out and ruining what they are working on. You can get the individual eight ounce bottles of Sargent glitter glue in the following colors: black, silver, gold, red, violet / purple, blue, orange and green. If you want something smaller and easier for kids to work with, the tubes of glitter blue are sold in packs of six and contain silver, gold, green, blue, red and purple. You can get the tubes in two different sizes, 1.12 ounces and 2.14 ounces. One thing you need to know is that the squeeze bottles are a completely different product from the 16 ounce jars of glitter finger paint, that is something that you need to keep in mind if you are ordering these online because some descriptions of them can be extremely vague. For the price this is a nice deal if you have the need for a glitter glue or don't want to have to go through the hassle of making your own and running the risk of having clumps of glitter in the glue. ^V^ © Freak369 - 2012 ^V^ Pentech Sparklez Pens Pentel Metallic Silver Gel Pen Hybrid DX Metallic Silver Gel Ink Pen Hybrid DX Metallic Gold Gel Ink Pen Elmer's Washable School Glue Alex Toys Kids White Glue
