Schick Hydro 5 Blade Razor Cartridge Refills 4 ea

Since moving away from Gillette disposable razors and upping the blade level from double, triple, quatro to 5 Blade system cartridge razors the Schick Hydro 5 power select razor has been my trusted favourite during the past 6 months. After using the original cartridge for that much time where it ran out of the gel and blades not being at their sharpest I bought a 4 pack of the Schick Hydro 5 Blade Razor Cartridge Refills.

Of note the same cartridge can be used in both the regular Schick Hydro 5 razor as well as the Schick Hydro 5 power select razor which I use. 

The pack comes in a transparent plastic case with a similarly shaped cardboard case within. The back of the plastic case has an outline cut for easy separation to access the inner packaging. Inside the packaging lies the 4 cartridges enclosed in a hard plastic shell case. 


The back of this plastic shell case slides out for you to access the snugly fit cartridges inside. In fact the cartridges are fit so tightly its a bit difficult to pull them out of the case. A bit of fiddling will loosen them up. 

As with the original cartridge the top quality blades are complemented with a gel reservoir which has aloe vera and vitamin E. In the event of your shaving cream, foam or gel running out you can still use the razor since the gel reservoir will produce just enough liquid for the razor to do its job without much fuss. At the other end of the blades is the rubberized skin guard strip which helps in preventing blade cuts helping the blades to glide through the skin in a safe manner. Unless one intentionally presses hard on the blades to the skin its highly unlikely to get skin cuts with this cartridge.

And as an added extra feature the bottom of the cartridge flips out to make the blades standout as a mini trimmer. Personally I have not used this feature at all.

Bottom line is if you have got a Schick Hydro 5 razor then the additional cartridges are a must if you intend to use the razor for long periods of time.
