Pros:Amazing detailed response across the whole frequency range, comfortable to wear
Cons:They take too many hours to break in (hardly a con).
The Bottom Line: Give them 200 Hours of Listening. You will not be disappointed.
Try them. Please, I challenge you. Pull up your chair in front of your DVD player, and turn on Pearl Harbor. Advance to the attack scene, and be amazed. Every explosion, every shell hitting the ground, EVERYTHING is as if you were there. Oh, but it gets so much better.

The HD590's have yet to fail no matter what task I put them up to. Some Vivaldi's 4 seasons? Hear each string on the viola. The Eagles? Hear the tap of the snare, the beat of the bass drum, and every note on the guitar. Prefer rap? Bass & clear vocals. That's all I have to say. Techno/Trance/Dance? Sasha and Digweed's Northern Exposure, 6 minutes 36 seconds in: Absolutely stunning. I can hook these up to my iPod, to my computer, to my DVD Player or my home stereo, feed them as much power as my ears can handle, and the sennheisers wont distort a bit.
I picked my set up from a seller on ebay for $179 to my door. When i first got them, I was somewhat dissapointed. They sounded more tinny than my friend's year-old pair. Now that I have had them for over a month, and have listened to 200+ Hours worth of music (Sennheiser recommends an initial 24 hour break-in period out of the box, and then 100 hours of listening before they are up to par) and I must say, they are amazing. I cannot praise these headphones enough.
